Colleges that receive federal funding must ensure equal access to students with disabilities. This means that they have to provide 'reasonable' accommodations. Common accommodations include:
- Taking exams in a distraction-reduced room
- Extra time taking tests
- Use of note-takers for class lectures
- Making audio recordings of lectures
- Use of a laptop computer in the classroom
I would recommend inquiring about Disability/Accessibility Services at the college you are interested in. Every college varies in the type of services they provide. Best of luck in your search.

Great question! There is some research you and your parents can do to keep you more confident. First and foremost, if you have already selected the college or university you want to attend ask their Student Affairs office if they have any programs available to you. Next you can use some of these resources that are available to you. More information is available at AutismSpeaks. There is also a website that has done some of the research for you (www.bestvalueschools.com/rankings/students-with-autism/). Check it out and good luck!

Patrick,
As Rita said, either a Student Affairs or Student (Support) Services at whichever college or school you're attending or have decided to attend should have resources on available supports and accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Amendments regulations. Once you locate this service on campus, contact them to find out about supports available to help you achieve your best while in school. I hope this helps.
Good luck!
Hwal
