Hey there! I am a NRCMA which is the same as a CMA. Our main duties are to bring in the patients and room them, take their vitals, give injections, we assist physicians with some procedures, educate the patient and send out labs/refills and some other things depending on where you decide to work.
Thank you, Kayla!

Hi Zariha,, It's great you have an interest in CMA,the responsibilities are actually more than what a nurse would do however the difference is CMA make ALOT less. Below is a list of duties.
Prescriptions.
Greet patients.
Schedule appointments.
Answer phone calls.
Respond to emails.
Collect patients' personal information.
Validate patients' payment methods and medical aid coverage.
Take vital signs.
Assist doctors with diagnoses.
Take lab samples.
Perform lab tests.
Sterilize medical instruments.
Hope this list helps.

Good question! Usually when you go to the doctor's office the person that checked you in, checked your temperature, blood pressure, and took you into the room, asked you some general questions on why you are there is a CMA/MA. The also support doctors during office medical procedures and can even give injections.
