Network, network, network. The more people you tell about your business, the more people will be interested in supporting your business. I would start social media accounts on any platform possible and start following other businesses like yours. If it's a product, show off that product and tell people what it does/why they need it. If it's a service, get those who know you and your business to review your service. Any type of exposure that you can get your business will jumpstart it. If it's a local business, go door to door. While this may not be as common anymore, sales do still occur this way and would at least get your name out there.
Thank you for the advice.

Hi Noah,
A great salesperson is an expert in a combination of skills, persistence, and a genuine passion for what they're selling. First, it's essential to know your product or service inside and out. It's monumentally important to be an expert on what you're selling. So, understand its features, benefits, and potential drawbacks. This knowledge will enable you to address customer questions and concerns effectively and provide tailored solutions.
Establishing a genuine connection with your customers is crucial. Show interest in their needs, listen actively and ask open-ended questions to understand their pain points. By connecting with customers on a personal level, you'll gain their trust and increase the likelihood of a successful sale.
Instead of merely listing the features of your product or service, emphasize the benefits it will provide to your customers. Show them how your offering can solve their problems, save them time or money, or improve their quality of life.
Effective communication is key to successful sales. Be clear, concise, and persuasive in your pitch, while also being open to listening and responding to customer feedback. Good communication helps build trust and credibility.
A confident and enthusiastic demeanor can be contagious. By maintaining a positive attitude, you'll make a lasting impression on your customers and create an atmosphere conducive to successful sales.
Sales can be challenging, and rejection is part of the process. Don't let setbacks discourage you. Instead, learn from your experiences, refine your approach, and keep pushing forward.
Master the art of closing the sale by learning various closing techniques and knowing when to apply them. Being able to sense the right moment to close is essential for sealing the deal.
Establish specific, measurable sales goals, and regularly assess your progress. This will help you identify areas for improvement and stay focused on your objectives.

Here’s a short answer. Be a good listener. Find what people want and get it to them.
Many entrepreneurs fall in love with their idea, build it, and try and sell it, only to find no one really wanted it.
Ask customers what they really want. Find enough with the same answer and you have a business.

Nik’s Answer
Earn the right to sell them products and services. What I mean by that is, learn as much as you can about your customer and their needs. Only then make a recommendation. Build trust by building common ground and relating to whatever barriers they are presented. Stay honest and put them at the center of your products. This will also help referrals quite a bit. People have a lot of anxiety about making purchases and going through the sales process. If they work with someone they trust and respect, they will send you more customers.
Best of luck!

Jessica’s Answer
The thing I find funny about your question is that you're asking how to be a better "salesman," when really your question should be how to become a better "marketer." Marketing is all about knowing who your target audience is and catering to them by knowing how to reach them and how they want to be reached. For example, if your audience are "Boomers," they would probably want a phone call about your business, whereas if your audience are Gen Z, they may want to see your ads on TikTok. Also, getting a better understanding of your audience will allow you to tailor and improve the product you're selling for what that audience wants. Consider the types of people who are typically buying your product and then do some research online about current marketing trends for that audience. Do you typically sell your product to men instead of women? Then, maybe you want to start a YouTube channel to better reach men. Also, continue to get your name out there by standing up various social media profiles, posting daily, creating business cards you can hand out to folks when you meet them in person, and create a website (even through a simple website builder, like Wix.com) so people can easily access your content and buy your products.

TJ’s Answer
As a successful saleman, you need a good grasp on EQ, always put your feet in sumtores' shoes. Even though your main purpose is to sell something to them, however, it is very important that you keep thinking how to fulfill their needs and help them solve their problems.
Another point is to be persistent, there are always a lot of obstacles when you move forward, without determination to keep trying multiple times, it is hard to reach your goal.
Hope this helps.
