What if you graduate from a major you wanted to study and then after a while you don't want too anymore can you still study for many other things if you want too?

I am asking this question because many people change up their mind after they graduate on what they want to be like for example #fashion-design or many other options they want to study for on what they are passionate about

Hi Fatima,

You are absolutely allowed to change your mind as you move through life. Even if you get one degree and decide to change career fields later you always have the option to go back to school.

I can speak from personal experience. I studied biology for my undergraduate degree, then worked in IT for 7 years during which time I actually went back to school to pursue my Master of Fine Arts degree. Currently I've been working for almost 12 years illustrating in the video games industry.

Even now I'm learning 3D modeling and pursuing writing to expand my creative pursuits.

Just because you pick one major in college, or find one career that you enjoy, doesn't mean that you have to do that one thing for your whole life. When you do have a goal, go after it and put your effort into it. Perhaps you will love it for your whole life or maybe you'll achieve what you wanted and move on to something else.

People are great at learning new things so don't fret. Keep an open mind to the possibilities out there.

Absolutely! I have changed career paths several times. Education will always be beneficial to you even if you change paths. When you find your dream job, you will still have to continue learning new skills as your industry evolves.

When we choose a profession first is important to make this decision based on self-knowledge and with a search for information about it. And even though you can start a gradution and discover later that this is not exactly how you thought it would be or what do you expected for your future, it's always time to change and start again, specially when you are young and have your life ahead you.

The decisions you take now will be with you for the rest of your life, so it is important to be honest with your self, take the risk and have the corage to change.
