What can I do to stay on top of my work in college?
It's complicated to try to manage all your time in school with homework, class, sports, eating, and getting enough sleep for the next day. I want to be a future teacher, this is just the beginning.

Hi Clifton,
Not enough time in our lives seems to be an issue most college students fear. I can assure you that it is not as scary as you think. If you stay organized, perhaps with a planner, calendar, you can definitely make time for all the things you listed. Just make sure to spend time wisely and not waste time, and you will be fine. Make sure you save time to rest and sleep. Sleep is necessary for everything else to happen! I hope you the best!
Best regards,
Herman

Hello, Clifvon -
First, let me commend you for asking for assistance with this! Time management can be one of the toughest things to get under control when you begin your college experience. I agree with the previous response that writing things down on a calendar and/or to-do list is a great way to keep yourself on track. If you have a smartphone, you've got even more tools to use to keep things in order. Calendars, notes and reminder apps are can send you critical alerts to keep your time managed. The initial set-up may be tedious, but it will be worth it in the end. Additionally, pay attention to - and be brutally honest about - how much time it takes you to prepare for test or study for exams and set your alerts accordingly.
Best of luck to you!

Hi Clifvon,
Yes it is very difficult to manage your time, activities, and coursework while in college! Why not try a planner or date book? I found that writing things down in a calendar form ( and a to do list!) really helped. I was a procrastinator and had to teach my self to become more focused and deadline driven. But to make that work, you have to give yourself short term goals along the way .... don't just make a calendar and look at the end date. Give yourself little milestone dates along the way. As you accomplish small tasks, you'll feel great!
In all of this, have fun. Your time in college is a wonderful part of your growth as an adult. Relish each moment!
