There are many things that are great about being a teacher. First, you get to spend all day with kids, which can be really enjoyable (most people spend all day in offices or factories, which can be much more boring). You also get to feel like you are making a real difference in people's lives. This is because what you teach your students will actually affect who they become and what they know. You are changing them. Finally, being a teaching is great because you have the summers off. This means that you can either teach summer school and earn extra money, or just relax and enjoy the vacation.

Great question. I think the best part about being a teacher is that your students are like puzzles. Before you get to know them, you can only make guesses about what their personal learning style is, what the best way to motivate them and engage them is, what kinds of things will discourage them and what kinds of things will help them take risks and work hard at new things. As you teach them, you begin to understand what is unique about each student, and it makes you a better teacher. It's enormously rewarding to watch your teaching become more effective over time as you do a better and better job solving the puzzles of how to reach each student. It's a really good job for people who really like people, who have a good intuition for how they think and feel, and who care about helping other people grow.
Summers off are pretty awesome, too!
