Hi Bella,
In the United States, the plastering trade is most commonly associated with the installation and finishing of interior wall surfaces. Most commonly this is composed of installing some type of substrate, such as gypsum wallboard, onto interior framing members and then applying a finish level (0-5) to that substrate. Typically, there are no individual jobs within this trade because it is all wrapped up in the actual trade of applying the plaster finish.
I can add that there is another type of "plaster" finishing that is for the exterior but it is most commonly called "stucco." This involves the steps above but it happens on the exterior of buildings and in many cases, the gypsum wallboard is replaced with some type of exterior grade sheathing.
I hope this helps!
Best,
Dave
