Kevin’s Answer

It is important to obtain a degree in Biology or in a related field, then make sure you have all the requisite for different PA Schools. Then take the GRE, scoring high in this exam will put you in a position to be highly competitive. Apply through CASPA to help you with various schools requirements and timelines.
Thank you comment icon It is actually not necessary to have a science related degree to apply to physician assistant programs. It is only necessary to complete the science pre-requisites required by the school in which the applicant is applying. Also, not all schools require the GRE. I was a non-science major and did not take the GRE and was accepted into PA school my first application cycle. Myna Ojiabo

Ginamarie,

It's been a few months since you asked the question, so I hope it's clearer to you now where you can start. I'm an accepted PA student about to start the program, and can tell you from my experience a few things. Firstly, I think it's important to think about why you want to become a PA. Are there alternate career choices you think you'd also enjoy? Do you have any family or friends connections to healthcare or PA profession? You can major in anything as a undergraduate to be able to apply to PA programs, so you should have enough time to think about these things before taking any action towards preparing for applications.

Good luck!
