my response to your question will be on engineering, an engineer try to solve a technical problem using the available materials and tools in the most cost effective way. like Apollo 13 when they able to create a filter for carbon dioxide. Computer engineering is similar, using available computer tools (program, scripts...) to solve IT or business issues. A good computer engineer will able to solve those problems that is cost effective and efficient. Improve your analytic and problem solving skill will advance your computer engineering career.
