Hi Calvin--
What is it that you are interested in doing? Are you familiar with Glassdoor? (www.glassdoor.com). It is a great resource to get a feel for salaries in your area for jobs that you might want to pursue.
When I look up "Recording Engineer" and put in my location (Los Angeles) it tells me that the national average is about $44,234 (with a minimum of $28K and a maximum of $83K). Specifically in Los Angeles the minimum looks to be about $34K and maximum at about $89K. The Average here in LA is $50,269.
Now, it does not specifically mention a degree, but it might be a good place to look for salaries.
Are you familiar with the Audio Engineering Society (AES)? Check out their website (www.aes.org) for information on education, AES programs and for a job board with opportunities in the audio engineering area--not just recording engineering.
Good luck on your search!

It's hard to give an exact answer for a question like this. There are so many factors like the current market, country/city you live in, and the exact job that you'd be working after getting your degree. This is because you can work any number of jobs with just one degree. I would suggest using a site like Glassdoor (https://www.glassdoor.com/index.htm). Sites like Glassdoor are basically an anonymous form of social media for professionals to discuss salaries and the workplace environment. Doing a job shadow might be another way to get ideas and learn more information.
Visit Glassdoor! (https://www.glassdoor.com/index.htm)
Search for jobs that meet your required pay rate.
Read about other people's experiences and see salary ranges.
