Great Question Rayven!
I would first ask yourself if you want to be a train conductor or a train engineer. Also, do you want to work for a city train or a long haul train company. What I would also consider is do you want to make a career out of this for the rest of your life or do you think you might want to try something else down the road.
Its a great idea to talk to your Dad and I would really listen to his perspective since he has first hand knowledge of the daily job. Maybe at some point you can go to work with him and observe his job duties. Also, check out to see if there are any internships you could apply for in this field.
Good luck on the journey!

If you want to work for the same company he does ask him about the training path he took and see if they offer any internships for students wanting to learn. Look at the job descriptions when that company posts new jobs and see what the requirements are to become a conductor and work on getting those things accomplished. Good luck!
