Great question! Pursuing a career in environmental engineering requires a strong foundation in math, science, and engineering. Here are some classes that you might consider taking in high school to prepare for a career in environmental engineering:

Mathematics: You should take as much math as possible, including Algebra I and II, Geometry, Precalculus, Calculus, and Statistics. These courses will help you develop the quantitative skills you will need to succeed in environmental engineering.

Science: You should take as many science courses as possible, including Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Environmental engineering involves applying principles from these sciences to solve problems related to the environment.

Engineering: You might consider taking classes in engineering, such as Introduction to Engineering, which will give you a taste of what it's like to work in this field. You can also look for classes or extracurricular activities related to environmental engineering, such as robotics or sustainability clubs.

Environmental Science: Taking an environmental science class can give you a broad understanding of the field and help you develop an interest in environmental issues.

Computer Science: Many environmental engineering tasks involve the use of computer models, so taking computer science classes can help you develop the necessary skills.

In addition to taking these classes, consider participating in internships or volunteering in environmental engineering-related activities outside of school. This will help you gain hands-on experience and build your resume. Good luck!
