Hi Isabella,

I was in your shoes before. Ever since I was a little girl, I would read a particular medical book in my home until it tore apart. I continued to read that book until I became an adult and I still have it today.

There are so many opportunities in nursing. Here's something you can do to find out what path may be best for you:

1. Find out what population you want to work with. Babies, children, women, adults, elderly, inmates, pregnant mothers, homeless...etc.

2. Find out how you want to work with them. Do you want to take care of them at the bedside? Teach them about health? Create health programs for them? Figure out what illnesses they have?...etc.

3. Find out what it takes to do this. What type of degree will you need? What type of licenses and certifications will you need?

Here's an example:
Let's say you've been a baby sitter before and you like working with kids. Let's also say you like the idea of figuring out people's illnesses. Go online (or come back here) to find out what type of nurse would be great for this.

In this case, you could be a pediatric nurse practitioner. Nurse practioners are similar to doctors. They can do checkups on babies and children and do tests to find out why they're sick. It requires you to become a nurse first then attend graduate school and get a nurse practioner license. You may need to get some certifications too.

Try it out! Good luck to you.
