One thing to think about with driving sales and marketing is that people do not want to be sold on a product. When there is a compelling story, a good cause, or a useful purpose that makes people's lives easier or better, people are more likely buy. Most markets are saturated with so many different brands that its important to not look and sound like all the other brands.
When you think about the last product or service you bought that was a basic need, think about what made you buy it over another brand?
YouTube is a great resource for free information, you can also try other courses online in marketing at Udemy or Coursera.
Hope this helps!

A wealth of courses can be found online on platforms like LinkedIn, Youtube, and Coursera. Additionally, your nearby community college or university likely offers relevant classes. You can also gain insights from experts who share their knowledge through blogs or social media posts. Depending on your marketing interest or specialty, you may find it beneficial to delve into forums or participate in live events/webinars.

In response to your question about why this is so hard: what people want changes! You can spend a lot of time crafting just the right message to sell your product, but then the target audience's needs or preferences change and your message is off base. Keeping up with what people you are trying to reach need; or finding people who need your product (called 'product-market fit') never stops and can be hard to nail down for any length of time.

Marketing is a broad category, could include sales and advertising as well. You need to figure out what aspect of Marketing excites you then you can google free Marketing Webinars and look through webinars, articles and forums that are available for you to view. Even if you are unsure what aspect you will most enjoy, just reading and viewing information may help you isolate your particular area of interests.
Also, there may be local school districts in your area that have continual learning classes that are offered at night and are relatively inexpensive. That may be another avenue to look into.
Good Luck!

Best wishes on your journey.
