Alem,
E-commerce brands face many challenges. You need to balance convenience and sustainability as consumers are impatient but you also need to be as efficient as possible. Offering products that align with environmentalism is also going to be key for future success. I would advise you to vertically integrate your business so that you have full control and access to information about every part of your products life. Fair trade and local legal requirements also need to be taken into consideration as e-commerce is an international business. Remember that the further away a sourcing center is from the buyers, the more carbon you will be emitting. There is very loose regulations on businesses right now, but we are entering an era of transparency and ethics and you should start preparing for more regulations soon.
I wish you luck, and if you have any further questions, I'd be happy to help,

E-commerce businesses often encounter a range of issues that can limit their progress and expansion. These obstacles can crop up at various business phases and can differ based on the industry, target audience, and specific business structure. Let's delve into the problems that e-commerce brand owners have historically faced and those they currently grapple with.
Historic Challenges for E-commerce Brands:
1. Building an Online Presence: In the infancy of e-commerce, brands struggled to create an online presence. Developing a website, making it search engine friendly, and drawing in traffic demanded technical skills and resources that many businesses lacked.
2. Earning Trust: In the early stages, trust was a major obstacle for e-commerce brands. Customers were wary of providing their personal and financial details online, resulting in low sales. To earn trust, brands had to introduce secure payment systems, display trust badges, clarify return policies, and deliver top-notch customer service.
3. Managing Logistics and Fulfillment: Efficient logistics and order fulfillment were significant challenges for e-commerce brands. Overseeing inventory, delivering products promptly to customers, and managing returns were intricate tasks that demanded meticulous planning and execution. Brands had to invest in solid inventory management systems and form alliances with dependable shipping providers.
Present-day Challenges for E-commerce Brands:
1. Fierce Competition: The e-commerce sector has become extremely competitive, with countless brands fighting for customer attention. Differentiating oneself from the competition is a perpetual challenge. Brands must create unique selling points, provide outstanding customer experiences, and use effective marketing tactics to gain a competitive advantage.
2. Customer Acquisition and Retention: As customer acquisition costs increase, attracting new customers is becoming progressively challenging. Brands must invest in targeted marketing efforts across various platforms to effectively reach their target audience. Moreover, keeping existing customers is vital for sustained success. Cultivating customer loyalty through personalized experiences, loyalty schemes, and excellent customer service is key.
3. Embracing Technology and Innovation: The e-commerce industry is rapidly evolving, and brands must stay abreast of the latest technological developments to remain competitive. This involves adopting mobile-friendly designs, optimizing websites for quick loading times, introducing responsive customer support systems, and using emerging technologies like artificial intelligence and virtual reality to improve the shopping experience.
In addition to these hurdles, e-commerce brands may also encounter issues related to inventory management, pricing strategies, cybersecurity threats, regulatory compliance, and scalability as they expand.
