Dheeraj’s Answer

Anesthesiology is an amazing field of medicine. After finishing my medical school I was not sure what I want to specialize in, most of my friends joined internal medicine and some general surgery . I wanted to specialize from the get go, I took my time by joining basic research and did externship in medicine, just by chance came across anesthesiology residents and found them happier than all the other ones. I started doing research in the field of anesthesiology, found out how it is a combination of physiology and pharmacology two of my strong subjects in medical school. Found an awesome mentor and never looked back, luckily the job market also improved so got compensated well.

Dheeraj recommends the following next steps:

Request a residency program to let you shadow residents and attendings
