An electrical apprenticeship usually is 3 to 4 years depending on your state requirements on hours and schooling. Once you are a journeyman electrician you are established, and that can be done once you reach the hours, schooling and pass the state exam to get your journeyman's license. I found that by really learning as I work and was trained, that the state licensing exam wasn't hard, because it was what I had learned and done for the years before. So just ask lots of questions from your training Journeyman or Master Electrician, do your school work and realize that everything you learn and skills you aquire will make you the master of your trade and a valuable asset to any company. Good Luck!
