What is the easiest way in finding clients when majoring in accounting?
Sometimes when you graduate or have a degree in accounting, it may be hard for you to find the people you need to make it an actual career. That's why I'm asking what is the best way to find clients. #accounting #social-networking

At least not off the bat... Just because you have a degree in accounting and a CPA, doesn't mean that you should pursue your own practice immediately. You won't have the knowledge or the experience to be able to run the books even for small companies on your own - think taxes, employee benefits, equity, roll forwards, loans. Running the books is a lot more than just payables, receivables and cash.
Knowing how to handle all of that comes with experience. So you start off working somewhere and gaining that experience, and when you get to the point that you feel you know enough to start on your own, you'll also know the answer to your question because you will have a network of colleagues, potential clients, people that can refer you etc.

To be honest, there is no easy way to "find" clients no matter what major you are in..
The best way in my opinion is to build a healthy&strong network instead of only aiming at clients. Most of the successful stories about getting clients are all based on a strong networks/connections. So even though your network is not necessarily your client base they will refer clients to you when the right opportunities come. You never know which box has chocolates so the best thing you can do is to maintain all the boxes and one day the goodies will show up themselves.

Happy Friday! I would say that a great area to start to expand your network and find a good client base is by starting a career in public accounting. Through public accounting, you will gain a solid foundation in business as well as work on clients big and small in the Silicon Valley. As you start to grow in your career, these clients and colleagues that you have been working with can give you the tools that you need to start your own firm if that's your ultimate goal.
