How to create a resume if you do not have “enough” experiences (How to beef up my resume)?

I’m currently a high schooler trying to apply to jobs and internships.

Hi there, I bet you have more experience than you think :) I would try your best to highlight special projects that you have done and what skills those used. Also, continue to volunteer for things. Join clubs and comittees and help accomplish things that you think would be valuable assets to your resume. Every experience uses a skill, you just have to figure out what skills those are!

Hi,
You could include stuff like:
1) Some relevant courses (from your coursework of last attended college/school)
2) Soft skills that you possess
3) Any (academic) projects that you completed as part of your coursework (or on your own)
4) Any competitions where you won award/prize
5) Any professional memberships that you might have
Hope this helps!!!

Hi there! Never feel bad for not having any experiences to put on your resume! Highlight your skills and what your know you are good at. In the mean time try to volunteer where you can or maybe get involved in sports or classes. When applying to jobs, include a cover letter to let companies know that your ready and willing to learn.

A lot of things can go on your resume that aren’t jobs an internships- if you’re part of clubs or organizations, on a sports team, have done any volunteer work, won any awards or been recognized for academic achievements, potentially even projects you’ve done it classes that helped you build skills that might be relevant to the jobs or internships you’re applying for. If you don’t have much in the way of those kinds of experiences, either, you might consider what steps you might take over the summer or next school year to build those experiences. Choose thinks that are interesting to you and can help you build job skills.

Also, a strong resume isn’t the only way you can get your foot in the door for a job or internship. Consider whether you know anyone who might be able to help you out- parents, teachers, friends’ parents, other adults in your community- may work at places that are hiring for the summer. Make sure people around you know you’re looking for a job and will work hard, and they may be able to offer you advice or even recommend you for jobs they know about.
