Do you get paid a lot when designing clothes?

I am asking this question because I'm planning to design clothes for famous people.

Hi London!
To be honest - you probably won't be paid much at first.

Clothing design, especially for celebrities, is a big business with a lot of people trying to break through and get their line noticed. You would most likely start as an intern somewhere in the fashion industry - either in a clothing store, a magazine, or - if you are lucky - a designer. Most of your days will be spent doing brunt work but at least you will be learning the tools of the trade, meeting people in the business, and learning about the industry. In your spare time, you will want to be drafting your own ideas, sharing them when you can, and bringing some of those designs to fruition. Like any artist, you will want to develop a portfolio of your work that can be shared at job interviews so people can see what you have done and get a sense of your "look".
