Will the ease of switching majors, having more than one major, or picking up a minor vary on the college?
Hello!! I hear a lot about how people don't always know what they want to do, which is reassuring, but also brings me to question academic flexibility.

Hi, Monica!
Yes, each college will have its own requirements for majors and minors. A degree at one college will have different required courses than the same degree at another college.
I'm not sure if you meant to ask about changing schools when finishing a major, but I thought I'd add some more information. For example, let's say you attend one college where you take courses towards a degree in History. Then you transfer to another school, where you hope to keep working towards a degree in History. Unfortunately, your credits may not all transfer over. In other words, the second school may not recognize that you've fulfilled certain course requirements (meaning you'll need to retake classes), or they may have additional requirements that the first school didn't have (meaning you'll need to take additional classes to satisfy course requirements).
There's nothing wrong with changing your mind about majors. However, it is important to know that changing majors will likely mean needing to stay in school longer in order to satisfy the requirements of the new degree. Talking with an advisor at the college will help you understand what your options are and whether any financial aid may be affected by the change.
