Hello Sadie,
Fantastic effort!
I suggest enrolling in numerous biology and medicine-focused courses to expand your knowledge. Additionally, think about exploring opportunities to job shadow at a nearby clinic or hospital. A further activity to consider is arranging an interview with a pediatrician to gain valuable insights. Keep up the good work!

Great question.
I think something very important that people overlook when they are looking into medicine early on is the reason why. What makes you want to go into medicine. If you want to get into Peds ER get involved with the hospital that is near you and see what the day of the life is like in that field. It is very important to see what all goes into that field. Once you get some experience near that you can shape your application around that. I want to get into Peds ER because I saw how certain things were overlooked because of the patients age and this is something I want to do to help fix that problem. Shaping your application is extremely important when looking into medicine. The classes are absolutely important, but being interesting and having reasons as to why you want to do things are going to put you ahead of the other students.
That all being said your classes will be important and can help you stay in the running and get you the interview that will help you beat the others. I think it can be helpful to look at what a typical Biology degree entails in the school that you are interested in. Then try to take AP classes in that to see what college itself is going to be like. This will also give you a head start before you come into college. Make sure you are still getting some time in to do other things while you are in college. Spend time with friends and do some things you like.
Lastly counselors at your school can be very helpful to help guide you in the direction that you need to go to be competitive for some of these ultra competitive schools. Congrats on being so motivated you are going to do amazing. If you have any more questions feel free to ask them. :)
