Are there internships available for EMTs after they graduate?

I recently graduated an EMT-B course in NYS at 17. people have told me that it's hard to find opportunities while you're under 18 and still in school. what is the best way to get the experience you need to advance and not forget everything?

There are opportunities, but being that you are only 17, there may be some restrictions in place until you turn 18. If you just graduated as an EMT-B, you should have done some ride time, either with a local private ambulance or a local fire department. I don't know the requirements for NYS. When you turn 18, you should inquire to local ambulance companies, as that is usually who hires EMT-B. Work on your paramedic certification and you will have much more opportunities to gain knowledge and experience. The best way to gain experience and not forget it all is practice, practice, practice. Some skills are rarely used, others are used quite extensively.

Definitely, numerous internships await students after graduation. I believe that hands-on training is an excellent method to maintain your knowledge and retain your skills.

There are, you just need to be creative when looking.

Your best bet might very well be at a volunteer squad, if such exsists in your area.
