Robert’s Answer

Dallas,
Watch videos, try building something with someone that does carpentry, ask someone in a Home Depot, Lowes or lumber yard parking lot. They usually will help answer questions. On line there are assessment tests that are free to take to see if it is something that fits you. Are you good with your hands? Can you visualize something done before you do it. Most importantly, do you love to work with your hands, being inside the outside rather then being in an office everyday?
I hope this helps.

Alex’s Answer

Hello Dallas,

You're already on an exciting journey, being part of a program. Here are some tips to help you along the way.

Firstly, mastering the art of measurement is crucial. In the realm of carpentry and woodworking, this could mean different things. Try to become adept at fractional math for the Imperial system and familiarize yourself with using a tape measure. There are also numerous carpenter "hacks" or "shortcuts" that allow you to reference off other things, eliminating the need for constant measuring, while still maintaining absolute precision.

If your interest lies in the carpentry aspect of woodworking, start exploring designs. Discover what kind of projects ignite your passion. There's a whole world of master craftsmen out there, ready to inspire you with their work. Learn from them, draw inspiration from their designs, and you'll be on your way to creating your own masterpieces.
