You will find that the career you choose will naturally draw out your likings and values as part of the work if it is aligned with them. Even if your chosen career doesn't align perfectly with your interests and values, you may still find joy in pursuing it, although it might not let you fully express your passions while working. Examining your interests and values can guide you towards a suitable career path and reveal opportunities you might not have considered before. Ultimately, the decision to follow a recommended path is up to you. Remember, the more effort you invest in your career choice, the greater the range of possibilities you'll have to explore.

Great question! I think we all wrestle with this even after working and having years of experience. I see our career paths as an exploration of your values and how you grow as a person. It's not always linear and you do not have to stay in the same field if it no longer aligns with what you value. New fields will emerge and you can choose to pursue different roles and challenge yourself along the way. Don't put too much pressure on yourself to have the perfect career that aligns perfectly with your passions immediately. Take it one step at a time and trust your intuition along the way!

Hi Annahi,
In addition to engaging your values and interests to define your career path, you may consider gaining insight into your natural strengths. By understanding what comes naturally to you, certain career choices will not only be more appealing, but also more meaningful. There are several assessments that will help you discover your true strengths. My favorite is StrengthsFinder because the report is thoroughly written and has the potential to help guide you through the various turns in your career journey. But, I encourage you to do some research to find the one that best fits your needs. Best wishes for a successful professional career.
