Are you certain about your interests and the kind of career you'd like to follow? If so, it's a good idea to explore colleges with degree programs that align with your passions. If you're unsure about your career path (e.g., whether you prefer technical subjects like math and science or liberal arts), consider colleges that offer a wide variety of degree programs.
Another factor to think about is whether you'd like to stay close to home or are comfortable moving farther away. Financial aspects are also important, as out-of-state and private colleges usually cost more than in-state public institutions. Additionally, think about the size of the college you'd like to attend.
For example, I attended a small grade school (nine students in my grade) and a small high school (52 students in my grade), but I chose a large public university (Michigan State University) with over 30,000 students. I enjoyed the vast campus and the opportunity to pursue almost any kind of degree.

Starting this part of your student and pre-career journey is exciting. Try to keep open to all new experiences. Stay organized and ask for help no mater what the issue is, there is always someone else out there going through the same thing! Good Luck!

Hi Reymond,
Selecting the perfect college involves considering a variety of aspects! Think about the location in relation to your home, whether you'd prefer to travel to campus or live in a dorm, the cost of the college and the financial support you receive, the subjects offered, and the clubs and groups available on campus. Ultimately, it's all about determining the kind of college experience you desire and then pursuing schools that align with your vision.
Wishing you great success!

Hi Reymond!
This is a great question. The one thing I would recommend is to find scholarships for wherever you may go to college. This helped relieved the stress when I was deciding where to attend, as well as made my pay for each semester uniquely diminished. You can find scholarships honestly anywhere, but the most luck I had finding these scholarships was asking around my town and nearby cities. I would have to apply separately for scholarships, which was a semi-drag in fact that it was time-consuming, but it helped in the future as a lot of the funds that I applied for, I received.
On top of this, it is beneficial to look into areas or universities that pertain to what you would like to study. For myself, I attended the University of Arkansas because I knew I wanted to go into business and the institution has one of leading business programs in the United States.
Another factor would be in to looking for distance-related universities depending on how far or close away you'd want to be from home. I know for me, I wanted somewhere in the middle as I am very close to my family, but wanted to adventure out and experience new opportunities.
It is up to you initially though where and what you want to do. Only you are the one holding yourself back from what you want to study, and where you think the right fit would be for yourself.
I hope this helped and thank you!

My best advice for finding the right college is to do campus visits. Look for a "feeling" when you are visiting campuses. Can you see yourself being there? Does it feel like you would be successful there? If you still can not tell after doing a campus tour- try to do a more extensive visit where you can maybe even stay on campus. Look for summer camps at the colleges you are interested in or any kind of special programs you can attend.
I hope this helps!
