Sure thing! You'll get to explore exciting subjects like marketing, accounting, business law, and economics. As part of my international business major, I also had the fun opportunity to learn a new language up to an intermediate level. Plus, I got to spend a semester soaking up the culture of a foreign country. Trust me, studying abroad is an experience you don't want to miss!

Hello Carlina,

In order to major in international business, you will need to take the core business courses (finance, accounting, economics, marketing, international business (and some other similar courses depending upon the educational institution)). Then you will take more specific classes for international business that are targeted to what aspect of international business you have an interest in.

I would take a look at the schools that interest you and their coursework schedules to confirm exactly which courses you will need to take.

All the best,

Olivia

Carlina: Business is a great field and doing business internationally is a lot of fun.

Typically when you go to an undergraduate business school which has an international business program, they will be very explicit about which courses you will need to take. The requirements will be different at every school, so you should look at the academic requirements for the specific schools you are thinking about applying to. You also need to understand that not every undergraduate business school is going to have an option to major in international business. As an example, when I got my undergraduate business degree at NYU, you could only major in international business if you also majored in another business area (it was a co-major). UPenn Wharton also doesn't offer international business as a standalone major (although they have many int'l business courses and special programs).

To give you an idea of some of the courses you might take in such a concentration, I took a course called "economics of international business" and a course called "International Studies Program (ISP)" which went through case studies of businesses facing challenges in an international context.
