Some tips:
- dress the part. look professional
- come prepared to take notes to show you're committed
- be prepared to speak about your interests in consulting and why you would do well there.
- important to speak clearly and directly and look at them, not at your feet.
- check your local public library for books on this. You need to look good on this first interview, and a recent book on the topic is invaluable.

You want to understand the company at least on the surface level, including any recent news about the company. For larger companies, you can even find the exact interview questions they use or similar questions. All you have to do is Google it. Additionally, you need to sell yourself - not just your skills but who you are and why they want to work with you. They already have your résumé, you need to show them that you are competent and a decent person to work with!

Practice the "Tell me about yourself" until it`s well rehearsed. It should come easy to tell someone about who you are, what you do / what to do, how you can benefit the company, etc. Bonus points: Look at the company`s missions and how you can directly apply them.
Dress well, simple is better!
If it`s online make sure to be in a quiet place with good wifi.
I definitely look at Tik Tok videos of different professionals (especially HR) of what they look for in a candidate and take tidbets of what I learned and apply them.
Good luck!!

Preparing for an internship interview, especially for your first one, is crucial. Here are some tips to help you succeed:
1. Research the Company: Understand the consulting firm's services, clients, culture, and values. This will help you tailor your responses and show your genuine interest.
2. Know the Job Description: Familiarize yourself with the internship role and responsibilities. Be ready to discuss how your skills align with what they're looking for.
3. Practice Common Questions: Prepare answers for typical interview questions like "Tell me about yourself," "Why do you want this internship?" and "What are your strengths and weaknesses?"
4. Behavioral Examples: Have specific examples ready to illustrate your skills and experiences. Use the STAR (Situation, Task, Action, Result) method to structure your responses.
5. Questions for Them: Prepare thoughtful questions to ask the interviewer. This shows your engagement and interest. Ask about the team, projects, and the firm's future plans.
6. Dress Appropriately: Dress professionally in line with the firm's culture. When in doubt, it's better to be slightly overdressed than underdressed.
7. Mock Interviews: Practice with a friend or career advisor to receive feedback on your answers and presentation.
8. Stay Calm: Manage interview nerves by practicing relaxation techniques. Take deep breaths before entering the interview room.
9. Showcase Soft Skills: Consulting often requires strong communication and problem-solving skills. Highlight these in your responses.
10. Follow-Up: After the interview, send a thank-you email expressing your gratitude for the opportunity and reiterating your interest.
Remember, confidence comes with preparation. Good luck with your interview, and stay positive!

To prepare for an interview, practice answering commonly asked questions like "Tell me about yourself" or "Why do you want to work here." Be ready to speak to your strengths, weaknesses, and past applicable experiences. Make sure you do research on the company beforehand so that you can tie their values into your answers and make your interest in them known. When answering situational questions, follow the STAR method. Prepare some questions to ask your interviewer at the end. One question I always like to ask is: What qualities or skills have you seen in people that have been successful in this role in the past? Finally, make sure to send a follow-up email thanking your interviewer for their time. Good luck!

In addition to the tips already provided, I would recommend that the part about tell us about yourself or what interested you from the internship, keep it short and concise, no more than 5 mins.
Some companies ask questions using different methods (even for internships) like STAR or BAR and it's about how you manage situations. STAR - situation, task, action, result, or BAR - background, action, result. Practice answering questions with clear examples.
Be prepared to ask them some questions too. Show them you've done some research on their company and want to know more about it.
Follow-up with Thank you email.
