Aaron A.’s Answer

It doesn’t matter what type of surgeon you are. The situations and stress you face are very similar. Long hours, hard work, difficult healthcare system, etc is what you face. The actual patient care whether you are a surgeon or pediatrician is always fun and very enjoyable. If it’s not you went into medicine for the absolute wrong reason.

Rachel’s Answer

Cardiac surgeons frequently operate on patients without adequate blood flow to their hearts. They perform bypass surgery to improve that blood flow. Additionally, they may replace cardiac valves, deal with traumatic cardiac injuries, etc. These surgeries can be stressful because they demand great skill and concentration, but the reward of saving a patient's life is tremendous.
