Attending a trade school is a great idea. I took night classes while working in a warehouse during the day. Eventually I went to look for a job in a welding shop. Many fabrication shops are willing to teach people with no experience. It just means you start with cleaning, cutting, and finishing work.
Remember: welding is a very valuable skill but only as valuable as your ability to measure, cut, and care for the material you are working with.
All experience is good experience when you are learning. Pick the path that keeps you safe and constantly learning.

Hello Kindrell! Choosing a career in welding is a fantastic decision. You can gain the necessary skills at a technical or vocational school in just 6 to 24 months, depending on the particular program. These colleges offer hands-on learning experiences, giving you the chance to familiarize yourself with various equipment and perfect your techniques. Don't forget to safeguard your eyes!
