Karen’s Answer

Good that you are thinking about what you can do to prepare for your future. Try to brainstorm all the possible careers you might want to explore. Do some online research to learn more about them.

I believe one of the best things you can do now is to volunteer for a variety of activities. Something like serving a meal to the homeless will give you team skills experience and perhaps make you aware of how others live. You can also include all your volunteer activities on a resume.

With every good wish!

Nida’s Answer

Hey Jasmine,

I wish someone had nudged me earlier to explore the vast universe of career possibilities beyond the traditional options. I always knew I wanted a fulfilling career, but the conventional paths never seemed to resonate with me. It was only halfway through university that I discovered a multitude of careers that were a much better fit for my interests and skills.

If you find yourself in a similar situation, I encourage you to embrace flexibility. Consider coursework that can be applied across various fields. Don't be afraid to step outside your comfort zone and explore different disciplines. You might just stumble upon your true passion that way.

If you already have a clear vision of what you want to do, that's fantastic! Start preparing yourself now. Dive into books related to your chosen field, soak up as much knowledge as you can before you transition from high school to your chosen career. This will give you a solid foundation and a head start.

Remember, every step you take towards understanding what you love is a step towards a rewarding future. Your proactive approach is commendable. Best wishes on your journey!
