Taking online classes can be a rewarding and time-saving experience if you can adapt to the change and manage potential distractions. Staying motivated and embracing technology are key to your success.
Here are some helpful tips to enhance your focus during online classes:
1. Establish a peaceful workspace at home, preferably away from noisy common areas or the kitchen.
2. Minimize interruptions by turning off alarms, muting your phone, and closing any distracting social media platforms.
3. Ensure you have a reliable and high-speed internet connection for smooth class sessions.
4. Prioritize rest and sleep to keep your mind alert and ready to learn.
5. Engage actively in class discussions and question-and-answer sessions to enhance your understanding.
6. Join a study group for collaborative learning and discussions.
7. Organize a consistent schedule for your classes instead of random timings and days.
8. Remember to take breaks in between to refresh your mind.
9. Keep water and snacks within reach to stay hydrated and energized.
10. Inform others in your household to maintain a quiet environment during your class or study time.
11. Stay motivated by setting goals and tracking your progress regularly.
12. Celebrate your achievements along the way to keep your spirits high.
Remember, every step you take brings you closer to your goals. Keep going and enjoy the journey!

Hi Madyson,
this is a question I often hear from online students. In fact, I am online student myself and also have difficulty concentrating sometimes so I can see where you're coming from for this question.
First thing you need to ask yourself is this: what is distracting you? is it your environment that is making it hard to focus, e.g., is it loud or uncomfortable? Are your friends close by and you'd like to be hanging out instead? are you doing your online class when you're tired or hungry?
These conditions can make it hard to focus. In this case, can you adjust your surroundings? if its noisy, can you put on headphones? can you change the time when you take the class? Something else you can try is to shorten the time you take to do the online class, but login more frequently.
Make a schedule, let your friends and family know you will be busy during the times when you are taking class
Set small goals for each day. For example have a goal to do 30 min of class and one homework assignment each day.
Find other classmates who are taking the class online. It helps if you can talk about your experience and questions with someone else in class
Reward yourself when you get it done - you've worked hard!
