Hi Sebastian, it can be fun. It all depends on the post you receive. If you like interacting with people, a security guard position where you act as the reception as well would make sense. If you like quiet work, a guard post inside a corporate office may work best. Your shift may also determine how much "fun" you're exposed to as late night shifts are a lot more quiet than daytime. I'd say take your time on selecting a job offer and fully understand the post orders and the work environment to ensure you're not bored.

Early in my career I worked as a security guard for a hospital and an amusement park. The amusement park was fun in that I got free admission and could watch the shows while walking around. With the hospital, I worked the graveyard shift and basically was paid to watch Dragon Ball Z.
Working security can be demanding and there can be tense moments, but I enjoyed the year or so where I did security work.
