How different are pediatricians compared to regular doctors?
I believe I mainly want to focus on the mental aspect of being a pediatrician, so I would like to know additional information regarding that.

It seems like your interest leans towards becoming a child psychiatrist, given that pediatricians primarily focus on the physical health of children. When it comes to mental health concerns, they usually recommend a child psychiatrist. I can confirm this because I am a child psychiatrist myself. I have a deep passion for psychology and am fascinated by the workings of the human mind, which extends beyond the realm of medicine. Another option for you could be to become a child psychologist. However, keep in mind that as a psychologist, you wouldn't have the authority to prescribe medication, which can be crucial in treating certain mental health disorders.
