Where and how do I start my small business?
I want to start a small business when I have the money too but I just don't know where I would start and I would like it to be selling home made jewelry.

Hi, Analizjoan.
I used to live in your city, which was once called the "Brass city of the world" because of the many brass companies there, In fact, Hamilton park had in it an artifact of that era. It was also the birthplace of quite a few watch and clock companies. Timex started there, I believe.
But getting back to your question, I would say that often, the best product or service to offer is one which you really enjoy, like jewelry. Also important is that this product or service is (or can be) desired by others. I started my small hobby-like business by making polyurethane shifter knobs for cars. I researched and learned all about designing/making silicone rubber molds and casting plastics while working for a small company. Its upper management challenged some of us to come up with a low-cost version of metal product components that were currently being sold.
You may want to (if you haven't, already) watch youtube videos of how others are making jewelry. Save up money for necessary tools. Sometimes hinting about them to your parents can result in getting some for your birthday.
I sell my products on Ebay and Etsy, but there are many other sites you can use.
I wish you the best of luck.

Hello Analizjoan,
It's always a joy to meet a fellow craft enthusiast! The world of handcrafts is a wonderful canvas for showcasing your creative flair. Starting any craft hobby does call for an initial investment in supplies, but don't let that deter you. Buying your base materials in bulk or frequenting local craft stores can be a smart move. Purchasing stones and gems in larger quantities, for instance, can be a great way to save money.
If funds are a bit tight, consider asking a family member for a small loan or picking up a part-time job to help cover the costs. If someone lends you money, it's a good practice to pay them back, even if they insist it's not necessary. This not only gives you a sense of achievement but also helps build sound financial habits.
Next, you'll want to dedicate some time to creating your inventory. Once you have a collection of items, it's time to think about how to sell them. Etsy is a fantastic platform for crafters to market their work. You might also want to think about renting a booth at a local craft fair. This can give you valuable insights into which of your creations are the most popular, helping you decide where to focus your efforts.
I'm rooting for you in your crafting journey!
