Hi Alexandria - the short answer is: a lot
After you complete your time in medical school, you will go into a residency in pediatric medicine. During this time, you will be working in a hospital - getting hands on training, working closely with nurses, and dealing with patients on a daily basis. In an ideal week, doctors will work several 12 hour shifts a week; however more often they put in many more hours than that from checking in on patients, emergency calls, and paper work.
