Willy’s Answer

I assume that you wanted to become a medical doctor, isn’t it? If so, Rice university is one of the premier university in Houston and is considered by many as The Harvard Univerity of the south. Rice university does not offer a program for Doctor of Medicine. However, you can enroll in a bachelor’s degree program at Rice university for premed then get your Doctor of Medicine degree in another university such as UTMB in Galveston and Baylor College of medicine. Since you live in Houston, you can go to Rice University and inquire personally about their requirements for admission. For a start, if you want to enroll in a premed program at Rice.

Willy recommends the following next steps:

Go to www.rice.edu then search for majors, minors and programs
Search for programs that can satisfy the requirements for a premed degree.
After you finish your premed degree then you can start looking for schools/university that offer a program in Medicine

Richard’s Answer

Rice is considered the best private university in Texas. It has a strong science reputation. The only problem is that all the other students will be very smart and many of them are premed. The competition for good grades is fierce... and you need good grades to apply to medical school
