Hi Alice! I learned Java as part of my master's, but have primarily used Python, SQL, & R in my day-to-day work, and would focus on getting really good at those 3 over learning Java.

Hey there, Alice! I can't stress enough how much I think you'd benefit from downloading Power BI. It's a fantastic tool for making sense of data, and the best part? There's a free version! It's compatible with DAX and comes with a super cool feature that lets you build your own data tables. You can even create connections between them, making it an excellent starting point for data analysis. And just to echo what others have said, SQL is absolutely essential in the world of data science.

R and Python are great. I would recommend getting into SQL.
But to be a data scientist, it takes more than just learning programming languages. It is very important that you take courses in statistics. I would also recommend taking econometric and economic forecasting courses too.

Dear Alice,
You can kick off your professional journey by learning Python and SQL. These are widely used in the business world. R, on the other hand, is predominantly utilized in academic circles. However, there might be some companies that also use R. Therefore, once you've mastered Python and SQL, you could consider exploring R.
Best regards,
Vinnie
