What is the best path to becoming a Hospital Pharmacist?
I would like to know what steps need to be taken after high school, like what courses I should take during university and other steps to applying to pharmacy school to earn the pharm D.

For one to become a registered pharmacist you need to have undergone a pharmacist training at a university that trains pharmacist.
Ideally you must have met the course eligibility criteria .the course takes about 5years training.then you proceed for a one year internship at both industrial attachment and hospital attachment, thereafter you can be registered by the pharmacy and poison board depending on the Country and state.
So it's a long journey that takes at least 6years and requires great dedication to the studies.

Hello Erica,
Definitely follow the pathway given for pharmacy school. I would recommend that you join clubs focused on Pharmacy while in school and find opportunities to gain experience/clinical experience. There are many Pharmacy Tech assistant positions in a hospital, that you may apply for which are level entry in order to begin building connections and networking.

My understanding is that you need:
1) a bachelors degree, usually in a science-related field (usually 4 years)
2) Go to pharmacy school (another 4 years)
3) pass the boards
Once you have your PharmD, you then apply for jobs wherever you want.
