I want to become a marine biologist but i do NOT want to be sitting in a chair all day. I would like to be in the water for the most of the time. I was wondering if their is a certain job in marine biology that will let me be in the water for the most of the time?
If this is possible can you tell me what it is called?

Hello, Shane !
There are no jobs which will require you to be in water 100% of the time, however, I hope I can provide some information to you that will allow you to make some decisions. Your employer will set your work routine and tell you how much time is needed for what duties.
Any of the marine biology type careers will require that you also have excellent written and verbal skills. You will be required to be on land to write your reports and to secure things at your place of employment, also for meetings or presentations. A career that may keep you in water a long time, though, is Marine Archeology. Since the field of Marine Biology is actually in demand, it may not be a bad idea to follow up on that study. Once you start your career, you may welcome being on land after some time in the water, but you will have to be interested in evaluating, recording and composing reports also.
I can tell you that if you go for a career in Diving, there are a variety of realms in this field that will keep you under water. Some of the areas for this field of work are : Commercial Divers, Public Service and Military Divers, and Scientific Research Diver.
To start the career, you will have to be an experienced, expert scuba diver. For more information about Scuba Diving instruction, call Divers Descent Scuba in Hershey, PA at (717) 520 - 8268. Also, the college major for marine biology is intense, requiring many classes in science.
I hope that I have provided some advice to think about and I wish you the best on your journey to a marvelous career !
