Hello Olive! Here's a step-by-step plan to kick-start your photography journey. Begin with the resources you already have. If you own a phone, it's a great tool to start. Use your phone's camera to capture images. Next, download a free photo editing app or software to enhance these images.
Once you're comfortable with these steps, it's time to seek guidance. With your parents' assistance, look for a photography mentor online or at local universities.
Remember, practice is key. Keep snapping pictures regularly to build a robust portfolio. Once you have a decent collection of pictures, it's time to showcase your skills. Create a resume highlighting your photography experience and start applying for internships. This hands-on experience will give you a real taste of the photography world.

Hello, Olive !
For an impressive resume, you will have all of your experience, education and skills listed. That being said, I will give you some advice.
Under the work history, list any jobs that you have had. For your experience heading, add everything that you've ever done that relates to fashion. Such things as modeling, sewing (independent garment construction), photography (even if it wasn't for fashion), make up application for individuals, hair styling - anything you have ever done and if it wasn't a paid position, term it as independent work. If you have ever had anything published in your school newspaper, include the information about that. Add in any volunteer work you have done.
The environment at a fashion magazine company is part journalism and part fashion. Anything related to those two types of work will be good and also if you have worked in a clothing shop, be detailed about the duties you did such as cashier, customer service, display. In your cover letter do not excuse it that you have never worked at a magazine before. Write an upbeat letter that explains why it is important for you to intern there, how much time you can give them and what you can bring to the magazine. Let them know that you spend your time keeping up with the contemporary trends. This is if you have done these things before and you feel that way. Never fudge a resume, though. These are just things to spark ideas about experience you may already have.
For education, indicate your school, grade and any course of study that you took or are taking that relates to sewing, journalism, photography or writing. I'm not sure what duties they would give in this internship, but if you've done any clerical work, include that.
It's excellent that you are working on your resume, but also remember about the interview. Practice interviewing and research what possible questions they may ask you as they may help you to be prepared. Do not stop at just one internship. If you find that there are many that you can apply for, definitely submit your resume and cover letter to all of them for a better chance of being chosen. Both the world of magazine production as well as fashion are very competitive, but you can do this. Do not give up. Be persistent, muster up that confidence and go for it.
Best wishes to you on your preparations for the internship !

Securing a fashion magazine internship at a young age is an exhilarating ambition. Even without previous internship experience, you can craft an appealing resume to boost your prospects. Here's what to incorporate:
1. **Objective Statement:** Kick off your resume with a concise objective statement that underscores your passion for the fashion world and your readiness to learn and contribute as an intern.
2. **Contact Information:** Position your name, contact number, email, and location (city and state) at the top of your resume.
3. **Education:** State your current high school and expected graduation date. Feel free to add related coursework, like journalism, photography, or fashion-focused classes.
4. **Skills:** Highlight any skills pertinent to the internship, such as writing, photography, social media handling, or graphic design. Emphasize any software or tools you're adept at, like Adobe Creative Suite or content management systems.
5. **Projects and Extracurriculars:** If you've participated in any fashion-related projects, blogs, or school publications, include them. Provide details about your role, duties, and any positive results.
6. **Leadership and Clubs:** Spotlight any leadership roles or participation in clubs, organizations, or volunteer work that showcase your dedication and teamwork abilities.
7. **Fashion Interests:** Demonstrate your love for fashion by mentioning your top designers, fashion trends you track, or fashion events you've attended. Prove your genuine interest in the industry.
8. **References:** If you have references, list them on a separate page or indicate that they are available upon request. These could be teachers, mentors, or individuals who can attest to your character and work ethic.
9. **Cover Letter:** Along with your resume, contemplate writing a meticulously crafted cover letter expressing your drive, your respect for the fashion magazine, and how you can contribute as an intern.
10. **Online Presence:** If you have a professional LinkedIn profile, personal blog, or portfolio website displaying your fashion-related work, include the links on your resume.
Ensure to customize your resume to the specific internship and fashion magazine you're targeting. Accentuate skills and experiences that resonate with their requirements and culture. Even without prior fashion magazine internships, your enthusiasm, skills, and commitment can leave a positive mark on potential employers.

Start to create a social page. If you have a platform, create content of what fashion means to you. Write your inspirations and concepts and bring it to life, and then they can have something to look at kinda like portfolio.
Often times they’re looking for something you created and could bring to the table. Maybe something like “Fashion Content Creator” on your resume, if you sketch as well put that there too.
Add things like:
Attention to detail
Excellent communication skills
Knowledge of colors, fabrics, textiles, etc.
Good time management
Retail (you can put that if you like, if you work in retail environment. It’s helpful to understand fashion.)
Hopefully this helps!
