John Wooden stated on his Pyramid of Success, it is when you have hit the level of competitive greatness.
Basically, being at your best, when the best is needed, and loving a challenge.
For many people it will be when they achieve a certain frame of mind regarding the element of success. This can be:
Peace of mind, which is a direct result of self satisfaction in knowing that you did the best, to become the best, which you are capable.
Only you will be able to determine if you did your best. And once you reach the level where you are sarisfied with your efforts, no one else will be able to say otherwise.
I have seen people do some amazing things, and achieve a level of success that might be considered by others to be less than what they should have achieved. But they are still success.
Chris Huffins is an excellent example. In the 2000 Olympic Decathlon, he exceeded all of his expectations and got a bronze medal. When asked if he was disappointed, he replied that he set personal bests in many of his individual events. He had done his best, and was very satisfied with his performance and getting a bronze medal in the decathlon. Why would he be disappointed? I believe that sums it up perfectly.

My recommendation is to be patient in finding the answer, but give the best of yourself everyday and in everything you do to help yourself to answer that question. In truth you never made, because life changes your objectives, you'll change your priorities, you'll discover more interests as your life and career progresses, it's all a moving target. But every time you'll acquire some comfort in what you're doing that will be the indicator that you've made it in that specific space. Don't think that "make it" means money ... it's all about how comfortable you'll feel in doing what you want/need/afford to do. And never give up on what you truly want/wish! Never!

Life is like a roller coaster: it’s starts off with sense of nervousness, anxiety, anxiousness and scariness. Not knowing what you’re prepared for. You have this idea right like “I want this for my life but I don’t know to get there?” And that’s the idea, you want to make it there, that’s the end goal.
The roller coaster takes you up… and takes you down… without any breaks, only YOU can brace yourself on the ride. The twist and turns, upside down, side ways, etc. the roller coaster gonna take you places you never experienced but guess what? You're still bracing yourself to get to the end goal. And when the ride is over, after all the nervousness and anxiety you felt is all gone, you made it! <3
Don’t rush
Take your time
Enjoy life/ get out and explore
Learn new things
Be happy!

Depends on your definition of success. For me, it was being able to make a down payment on a home. The sense of security paired with creating future equity was a huge step in life. This was the ultimate goal and as I achieved that, I found a new milestone. I think you will find that the yardstick will keep moving.
