Hello Jasmine,
The University of Texas at Austin evaluates not just your academic performance, but your entire application. Therefore, it's not only important to maintain good grades, but also to demonstrate that you're a well-rounded candidate. Engaging in volunteer work at places like nursing homes, hospitals, or other medical facilities could provide valuable experience in the medical field and make your application more compelling. The University of Texas at Austin refers to this as the Holistic approach, as it allows them to assess the complete picture of who you are, beyond just your academic abilities.
Possibly try volunteering at a medical facility, nursing home or assissted living.
Keep your grades as high as possible, look into tutoring ( in person or online ) if you have an area you are struggling

As others have pointed out, UT Austin’s program is highly selective, taking in a small percentage of those who apply. To increase your chance of admission:
1. Take and do well in challenging math and science classes.
2. Demonstrate your interest in the field by doing activities such as volunteering at a hospital or other health care facility or doing medical research.
3. Seek recommendations from teachers or others who can speak to the skills and qualities you possess that would make you a good nurse. Examples include: good communication skills, empathy, attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

UT Austin has a fairly low acceptance rate of 32%, which makes it more selective than most schools. Take time to make sure you submit all the requested materials and you prepare the application in full. You don't want to get denied right off the bat due to an incomplete application!
To apply, visit the Office of Admissions. Select Nursing as your first choice major and submit appropriate essays and required documents as directed by the March 1 deadline. No exams such as the HESI or TEAS are required. There are three pre-requisite courses needed: Biology, Chemistry, and Statistics.
