How to College Search?
How can I start college searching without a college in mind? I want to start during my sophomore year to have a head start before my junior and senior years.

Thank you for your question. Many students have similar question. Firstly, you may need to think about the careers you have interest. Then, you can determine relevant subjects as your major and minors to identity the colleges that suitable to you.
Below are my suggestions :
1. Think about you have interest, .e.g. your hobbies, favorite subjects, etc. and identify the related careers
E.g. If you like music, would you like to be a musician, singer, musical actor, music composer, music producer, etc.
If you have interest in maths, would you like to be an accountant, banker, engineer, financial analyst, maths teacher, etc.
2. Find out more on these careers and determine what you have interest
3. Speak to someone who are working in these careers. Seek guidance from your mentor, school career counsellor, your parents, etc.
4. Shortlist 1-2 career you would like to pursue
5. Explore the college review on relevant subjects and find out the entry criteria
Hope this helps! Good Luck!

I would start with all of the colleges in your region (Deleware), both four year and junior colleges.
Go to the internet and browse through their websites.
Normally, there is an information section that you can click on and register your name, address, email, interests, possible majors, and other information.
This procedure will allow you to start receiving information from the various colleges you register with. You can also do this with out of state colleges and universities.

Hello Ro,
When deciding on colleges, there are several factors to consider that will help you narrow down your options:
1. Location: Do you envision yourself studying in a bustling city, a quiet suburban area, or perhaps a serene rural setting?
2. Student Body Size: Reflect on your preferences. Do you prefer a lively environment with a large number of students, or a smaller, more personal setting?
3. Interests: What are your passions and favorite subjects? Investigate which colleges offer programs in the areas that excite you the most.
It's also beneficial to look at the paths taken by the alumni from your current school. Were there any seniors that you looked up to? Where did they pursue their higher education? Begin exploring these institutions and see if they align with your aspirations.
Additionally, many students find it helpful to follow their potential colleges on social media platforms like Instagram or TikTok. This can provide a glimpse into the student culture and daily life at these institutions.
Best of luck with your college search!
