Michelle’s Answer

You should look into different nursing programs because the requirements vary by school. Here's a general website that could be helpful though: http://www.choosenursing.com/faqs/classes.html

I just Googled "What classes do I need to take to become a nurse"

Kelli’s Answer

There are different levels of nursing. If you want to be a LPN or LVN, this level can be accomplished at a technical school in two years. If you want to be a RN it will take you 2 years of prerequisites, then an additional 1 year to be an ADN, or an additional 2 years to accomplish a BSN. There are programs for a LPN/LVN and/or an ADN to bridge to BSN. Please note that it is recommended that all RN’s be BSN by the year 2020.

As you can see, one of the greatest things about being a nurse is all of your options and opportunities!

Hi Anahi!
Great question! It takes about 4 years to get your bachelors degree in Nursing. There's about 2 years of prerequisite courses, then you apply to nursing school and then you're in nursing school for 2 years.
Like Michelle said above, looking into each school for their requirements is the best way to go. Another good resource is your university's guidance counselor, they can guide you in the right direction on what classes to take.

Roslyn’s Answer

Hello, It took me a total of 10 yrs to become a nurse. I stared straight out of college but had to stop because I did not have transportation to get to the hospitals for clinical. I found a job saved my money then went back to college out of state which was great. I went to a college in the south which I enjoyed but I had to stop again for financial reasons. I went home saved my money then went to another college in the south and this time I graduated. I never gave up hope about achieving my dream since I did not have anyone to guide me. No one in my family went to college. So, work hard while you are in high school and apply to as many scholarship programs as possible so that can finish in 4 years with a BSN(the minimum requirement for nursing jobs) GOOD LUCK
