I think following around people in the hospital can be very helpful. Volunteering in the hospital will also allow you to see the different jobs that exist in the hospital. There are tons of jobs in the hospital and a lot of them are extremely interesting. Spend a little time in the hospital and find out if you love the patient interactions (Nursing) the science behind it (Doctors) a certain aspect of it (respiratory, occupational, pharmacy, podiatry, physical therapy) spending some time in the hospital can help you decide a path that works for you.
I appreciate you taking the time to answer this.

I think once you join the medical field there are many options on specialization, however you need to know what you want, either if it's pediatrics specialization, mental health, geriatrics, oncology, reproductive health, intensive care, etc.
You need also to have passion on the speciality you envy.but again you may have one on discussion inorder to make informed choice on the speciality that fits your medical goal.

Hello Radia,
The healthcare sector is indeed a broad and diverse field. My advice to you is to take a moment, grab a pen and paper, and jot down the various aspects of the medical field that captivate your interest. Then, delve deeper into each one. For instance, if you thrive in high-energy, fast-paced environments and enjoy working with a wide range of people, you might consider becoming an ER doctor. If building relationships with families and providing them with continuous care appeals to you, family medicine could be your calling. If your heart melts for children, pediatrics could be a perfect fit. Or, if you're fascinated by the intricacies of the respiratory system, you might find your passion in becoming a respiratory therapist or an anesthesiologist. Remember, the possibilities are endless. Believe in yourself and your capabilities, because you can achieve anything you set your mind to.

You can take up a volunteering Programme both in the field where you can work with EMTS/Paramedics or within the hospital(Nurses, LabTechs,Doctors,Radiologists and Pharmacists). From the rotations you'll understand the complexities of managing a patient and you'll develop a liking from the above named positions. Hope this helps out
I'm excited to put your great advice to good use!

Hello Radia! As an academic advisor for health care programs, my advice to you is to gain some practical experience in the health care field through entry-level positions. Starting as a Nurse Aide or a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) can provide you with a wealth of experience, allowing you to work with a diverse group of health care professionals, such as administrators, record keepers, doctors, nurses, and various therapists. These positions usually require minimal training, or they provide on-the-job training, making them accessible to newcomers. Embark on this exciting journey with confidence. The health care field is brimming with opportunities, and I'm confident that you'll find a role that suits you perfectly. Good luck!
Thank you for the advice.
