Hi Kinsey,
Congratulations on thinking about law school. While the 3 years will be hard (1st year is the hardest), I think you will find it rewarding and it will put you in a good position to get a job once you graduate.
Drake is ranked 88 in Best Law Schools by "US News and World Report". That is a good ranking. The Law School accepts about 75% of applicants so it is considered "somewhat competitive". The median LSAT score is 155.

Two observations I would make:
1) study hard for the LSAT. The higher the score the more options/choice of school you will have
2) Look at job placement for each school. Some schools are better for staying in a certain region of the country vs. national.
Good Luck

Hey Kinsey,
Big kudos to you for choosing to study law! If you're keen on finding a school near you, you might want to check out https://law.uiowa.edu - it's the home of Iowa College of Law. As for Drake, it's a private University, so your decision might hinge on factors like your budget, availability of scholarships or grants, and your openness to transition from a college to a University environment.
To help you understand better, colleges and universities mainly vary in the programs they offer and the types of degrees they confer. When we say "University", we're talking about larger institutions that provide both undergraduate and graduate programs. On the other hand, "College" typically refers to community colleges, technical schools, and liberal arts colleges. Keep going, you're on the right track!
