Hi! The answer to your question can vary greatly based on the specific context of your work setting and the nature of the school or institution where you're employed. For instance, the experience and responsibilities of a teacher in a primary or secondary school can be vastly different from those of an educator in a higher education institution.
I am really grateful you took the time to answer this question.

Most teachers work in teams, such as the 5th grade team or the "specials" team (art, music, drama, computer, dance, library or others).
Other times there may be a classroom teacher, possibly a teacher assistant, and a special education teacher working together some of the time. New teachers may be assigned a teacher mentor or a teacher coach.

You'll get to work with a classroom teacher during your student teaching where you'll be introduced to the other teachers in the subject. Then when you sign a contract to work in a school division you'll meet all the other new hires as well as the teachers within your department and in administration. You'll mostly get to know them your first year!
Thank you, REBECCA!

Hi Sydney,
Like the others said above, it depends on the school. I taught High school history, business, and sociology for 5 years. I was the only teacher in my classroom and I was responsible for creating all my learning content such as lesson plans, tests, quizzes etc. Although I was the only teacher in my classroom and responsible for my students - there are other teachers in your department. It really depends on the grade you teach, size of the school, and what classes you teach. When you teach the same class as others, let's say history, some of the teachers like to discuss common tests and so forth for the students. This is usually done during teacher planning days.
