Ashton’s Answer

Hello!
I want to start my answer by saying that I am not a licensed cosmetologist and I have not been to cosmetology school, but I was an independent makeup artist for several years. Here are some traits that I think would be helpful for a cosmetologist based on my experience.

Patience, flexibility, and professionalism. These will help you maintain a good relationship with both clients and employers.

It definitely helps to be a little extroverted, open minded, and willing to ask questions. You will need to talk with your client and get clear guidance on what they want.

Finally, organization and attention to detail. Keeping your tools clean and organized is good for everyone involved, as well as keeping track of your appointments, consults, etc. Attention to detail when colour matching or recommending products is a good way to maintain good relationships, as well.

I'm sorry I don't have proper professional experience, but I hope this helps!!
