Hello there! It's wonderful to learn about your interest in pursuing a career in healthcare. While I don't have a background in healthcare myself, I strongly encourage you to explore this field by taking some science-based classes, particularly those related to health science - it's incredibly relevant!
Additionally, volunteering at your local hospital or an elderly care center could provide invaluable experience. I remember when I was younger, I volunteered at a local elderly home. Observing how carers treated the elderly with such dignity and respect, and witnessing the meticulous nature of the medical staff was truly enlightening.
Remember, healthcare is a broad field with numerous specialties, not just nursing. There are roles such as physiotherapists, occupational therapists, social workers, and psychiatrists. Start exploring these professions and understand what they involve.
I wish you all the best in your journey. Your choices will shape your future, and I'm confident that you'll make the right ones. Good luck!

Hello, Case! This is a great question and starting early is always a good idea!
However, this is a difficult question. Most schools are looking for students who are well-rounded, patient-oriented, compassionate, have leadership experience, and also have interests outside of the medical field.
Well-rounded: pursue something that interests you
Patient-oriented: consider volunteering at your local hospital, nursing home, etc.
Compassionate: volunteer with Habitat for Humanity, your local humane society, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, etc.
Leadership: This one's a bit tougher but try to take leadership positions at your highschool or university.
Other interests: literally everything else. What makes you unique and sets you apart from your peers? Art? Cooking? Football? Base jumping?
Good luck!!
